Peptides tested at Janoshik Labs
Each peptide comes with bacteriostatic water.
Express delivery in 1-3 business days.
Our peptides are manufactured under strict quality and control standards. Each product is delivered in lyophilized form , which ensures stability and prevents quality deterioration during transportation, even under adverse conditions . We test every batch.
We do not offer ready-made aqueous solutions because in them the peptide molecules are significantly less stable . The presence of water accelerates processes such as hydrolysis , oxidation and aggregation , which leads to a gradual loss of activity and effectiveness of the peptides.
Even under optimal conditions, the shelf life of peptide solutions is limited to about 4 weeks . Unlike aqueous solutions, the lyophilized form preserves the structure and biological activity of the peptides for a long period - up to 24 months under refrigerated conditions and up to 4 months at room temperature.
When stored in a refrigerator at 2°C – 8°C, the shelf life is up to 24 months . If kept at room temperature , stability is maintained for approximately 3–4 months .
After reconstitution, the peptides are in a more unstable form and should be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
At PurePeptide, we provide fast and secure delivery. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and delivered to your address in less than a week.
Standard delivery time is 3–7 days , with most shipments arriving within 2–3 days . After shipment, you will receive a confirmation email.
With us, you can rest assured that your order will arrive quickly, reliably, and in excellent condition.
Melanotan I (afamelanotide) is a synthetic peptide of the melanocortin group, a linear tridecapeptide and an analogue of α-MSH (α-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone). It has been studied in the scientific literature primarily for its potential role in stimulating melanogenesis, photoprotection and modulating skin pigmentation. The peptide acts primarily by activating the melanocortin receptor MC1R, with more limited activity towards other melanocortin receptors.
Originally developed as a research analogue of endogenous α-MSH, Melanotan I was used to study pathways involved in skin pigmentation, photoprotection mechanisms, and UV response. Interest in the peptide has subsequently expanded to include studies of its effects on oxidative stress, skin inflammation, and general phototolerance.
In scientific research, Melanotan I has been studied in relation to:
Stimulation of melanogenesis – activation of MC1R in melanocytes and increased synthesis of eumelanin
Photoprotection – potential protective effect against UV-induced skin damage
Improving phototolerance in models with increased sensitivity to sunlight
Study of the effects on oxidative stress and inflammatory mediators in the skin
Modulation of skin tone and evenness of pigmentation
Melanotan I has been studied in preclinical and limited clinical studies, with a specific focus on pigmentation and photoprotective effects.
Primarily activates MC1R, leading to increased eumelanin synthesis and a darker phototype in the studied models
Animal models describe reduced damage from UV radiation and faster skin recovery after exposure
Skin darkening and increased photosensitivity have been reported in limited human studies.
Its action is not associated with a significant increase in GH or IGF-1 – the effects are independent of growth hormone
Stable pigmentation levels were observed for a period after completion of application in research settings
In the scientific literature, research dose regimens cited vary depending on the model (in vitro, animal, or human studies) and the purpose of the study. When administered subcutaneously in a research setting, doses are typically titrated gradually to assess the dynamics of pigmentation and tolerability.
At 10 mg + 3 ml bacteriostatic water:
Concentration = 3.3 mg/ml → 0.075 ml ≈ 250 μg
Example calculation values for laboratory purposes:
0.075 ml ≈ 250 μg
0.15 ml ≈ 500 μg
0.3 ml ≈ 1000 μg
The specific schemes for application in scientific settings are determined by the design of the protocol, the type of model, and the objectives of the study.
In research settings, Melanotan I is generally well tolerated, but transient reactions that are dose-dependent may be observed:
Facial flushing or feeling of warmth
Mild nausea or temporary stomach discomfort
Headache or feeling tired on some models
Increased skin pigmentation and darkening of existing moles
The effects are usually reversible and resolve after discontinuation of administration in research settings. Serious adverse reactions have been rarely described within the published doses, but long-term safety and effects on skin lesions remain the subject of further studies.
